Anyone with a DVR knows how useful it is to skip ahead and back by 30 seconds or so. But Comcast DVR remotes don't have this setting by default.
Here are instructions to program their standard remotes to assign these functions to unused buttons:
To set a button to skip 30 seconds ahead:
Press the "Cable" button
Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks two times
Enter 9 9 4 the Cable button should blink twice again.
Press "Setup"
Enter 0 0 1 7 3
Press the UNUSED remote button you want to use for the 30 second skip ahead (I use the "Lock" button - it has a yellow/orange triangle on it)
To set a button to skip 15 seconds back:
Press the "Cable" button
Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks two times
Enter 9 9 4 the Cable button should blink twice again.
Press "Setup"
Enter 0 0 1 7 9
Press the UNUSED remote button you want to use for the 15 second skip back (I use the button right above the "Lock" button, the one with the counter clockwise swirl)
NOTE: This only works on DVR recordings - not on demand programs.

NOTE: if you have a Comcast DCX 3400 try this:
Press Aux
Hold "Setup" until it flashes twice
Enter 01376 (you should get two flashes)
Now Select Aux
Hold "Setup" until it flashes twice
Enter 994, again with the flashes
Hit "Setup"
Enter 00173
Select "Cable" then the button you want for skip ahead (I like the yellow/orange triangle)
